My computer got a virus on Thursday and this time, instead of spending a bunch of money, I decided to check into things myself.
I've got many things back to normal - Viruses gone and other things - and some more to do, but I know that I will accomplish this by myself!!
Yay!!

I'm a member of Facebook and mostly all people do there is Farmville or other stupid things like that.  I find them to be a total waste of time.
Who else feels the same way?
Also, whenever I REALLY tell my true opinion about something I am ignored.
Right now I'm feeling annoyed and depressed by all the stupid things going on, on our lovely planet.
I'd like to help but I feel that most things out there are just band-aids.  That's one reason I started practicing Transcendental Meditation (TM) back in 1974.  They said it was "the best"!  They said practicing TM together would bring about world peace.  They said we would be enlightened in 8 years.  What a pack of lies!
If you want to you can read my thoughts on TM here:  angelstarcreations.com/metaphy…
There are links there to other of my writings on TM as well.

It all makes me depressed and sometimes I feel like vomiting!  So we send some money to Haiti, or Chili, or wherever.  There are poor people in our own country!!  There are people taking advantage of the system and others who are homeless or live in shacks.  Let's do something for them instead!

Not to say I don't do some of the stupid things as well.  Maybe I'm a little less stupid than most people.

All I want in life is good health, happiness, world peace, and more money.  Is that too much to ask for?!?

Yeah, I should be positive and all that.  But sometimes it's totally difficult to do that!

Maybe I should go take a walk.

Bert and I went to a bar for Halloween and I dressed up as a pink-haired witch and he wore an orange and black wig with his hat.  I entered the costume contest.  I didn't win, but that's okay.  There were plenty of really GREAT costumes!!

I don't even know what I am going to do, if anything.
I WILL get dressed up, though!
Maybe I'll just go to the plaza like last year

I saw some pretty cool costumes last year.
Happy Halloween!

WARNING!  I got busted!   ......  Not in the real sense, but my DSL got totally shut down yesterday.    I was, like, WTF!!

I called Qwest, my phone and DSL service people, and they said I was downloading something that was a copyright infringement.  It was CBS that put in the complaint.  Some of you know which shows I was downloading.

I put on my best dumb act.  I now have my DSL back up and don't plan on downloading anything else, EVER, as a torrent or whatever.

Come to find out, CBS, which is who carries most of my shows, offers the current shows on line on their Web site (with just a little advertising), so we (Bert and I) can still watch our favorite shows, and come to find out, some others as well.  So, we lost something and gained something else.

The WB doesn't seem to have shows available on line, at least not as I can see right now.   The show I (only I) like there is Supernatural; wish I could continue to watch the current season.

We DO NOT have Cable; can NOT afford both cable and our DSL charges.  We can't afford much extra of things to pay for.  That trip to Massachusetts / New Hampshire was fun but put us in a bit of a bind; and some other things as well.  Actually, we don't do THAT well at other times either.  We make so little that we have free state health insurance here (at least we do now).

Anyway, not to complain, but the main point of all this is a message to all who read this: please watch out with those torrent, and other downloads.  I think they are cracking down because of the new season.  Maybe you should just quit altogether.

Anybody have any ideas or thoughts about this, feel free to post below.  Anybody who wants to post this again or re-write it in your own words so others can know, feel free as well.  I'm still in shock.

On the 26th of August I started my college class: Religion's of the World.
The first class was GREAT!  And I'm having fun reading the two books.
I have to write a short paper at the end of each religion about that religion (my personal take on something about that religion) and a paper for Mid-Term and a class presentation at the end of the semester.
The religions we are studying: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Indigenous Spiritual Paths (Earth-based Spirituality; Shamanism; Taoism).
The paper I have to do for a mid-term project has to be about some specific religion that will not be covered in the class.
Anybody who could help me here and give me a suggestion would be appreciated.  Actually I'd prefer to cover something about some Ancient Egyptian religion, if that's possible, and if there is a book or something about such a thing.  Maybe priestesses in Ancient Egypt or something.  I think I was one in a past life.

I believe I was a priestess at least once because I have had several dreams that seemed very real about me being a priestess, and they seemed to be past lives.  If not Egypt then some place else.

AND:
Happy Birthday Michael Jackson!  Peace and Love to you.
Wish you were with us still.  It's so very sad for us that you are not with us any more.  You are dancing and singing with the angels in heaven.  Heaven is now enjoying your presence.  Remember to show them how to moon dance!

Hi there Everyone,

I arrived home in Taos Saturday afternoon. I'm quite happy to be home.  I'm here physically but my brain seems to be somewhat elsewhere.  I need a vacation from my vacation - sort of.

I had a really early departure time on Saturday morning - 6:10 AM!  It worked out fine though.  I had taken a nap on Friday and went to bed early on Friday night.  So I was just fine getting up at 4 AM Saturday.  Jeff, my niece Alicia's husband, drove me to the airport and we left their house at 4:30 AM.  Alicia had some other stuff to do so she didn't come with us.  I was fine with that.  I was traveling for over 14 hours!!!  My head felt like mush when I got home and it felt similar yesterday as well.  I'm starting to feel normal today.

I am taking some time out before I go back to work where I earn money - just a couple of days.  I've been cleaning, organizing, paying bills and such, so I have been working anyway. I also have some other thoughts of ways to make money through eBay - I have to work on that some as well.

I've been looking through all the pictures and videos I took during my trip!  Lots of happy memories!

I'm going to New Hampshire / Massachusetts in July.  From the 3rd until the 25th!  I'll be traveling all day on those two days and having fun in between!  Should be LOTS of fun!  I'll take lots of pictures and put the best ones up here.  I'll be spending a WHOLE week at the BEACH with my niece.  I'm SO excited!  One of my family members is paying for my flight out there.

See the two pictures I just posted here (on May 30, 2009) on DeviantArt.  They are of the same beach where I will be spending that week in July.

My name is Linda and I got married in June of last year!  I've lived in my town – Taos – for about 10 years.  I love it here!  I love the fact that one can drive outside of the town not too far in any direction and be out in the country or in a mountain forest.  I have two cats and I love them dearly.  I live in a little adobe house with my husband.

Taos, New Mexico is a beautiful town with mountains on three sides - North, East and South - and it is at about 7,000 feet altitude.  The population is about 5,500 people, although it swells to upwards of 10,000 with the tourists.  They come in the winter for skiing and in the summer for shopping and hiking, among other things.

We have lots of sunshine here.  Taos has been hailed as the Solar Capital of the World by official proclamation.

Where I live is best known for:

- The Taos Ski Valley which is about a 30 minute
drive from the actual town of Taos.
- The Taos Pueblo which is about a 15 minute drive from the center of Taos.
It has been occupied by Native Americans for thousands of years.
- Our awesome art galleries and great places to shop.
- The Plaza (the town square) where many community events happen.
- The Kit Carson Park that contains the Kit Carson
cemetery where some famous people are buried.
- The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.  Rio Grande is Grand River in Spanish.
The Rio Grande Canyon is like a mini Grand Canyon.
- Some fine museums and excellent restaurants and hotels.

This was a swap I did through Swap-bot.com - "Quick! Where were you when? Email swap" - I made the swap.
You know how there are certain things in life that happen that are so shocking, or totally make you happy, that you remember just where you were and just what you were doing at the time you heard about it or did it?

Below are three things I remember from my life.  I thought of the idea for this swap during the night before I posted it.

When John F. Kennedy was shot and died (November, 1963):  I was in 6th grade in my classroom in Methuen, Massachusetts (I grew up in that town) when the principal of the school came into my classroom crying.  She whispered to our teacher and then our teacher started crying (both were women).  Our teacher then told us that the president of the United States, John F. Kennedy had been shot.  Then the all the students in the classroom started crying.  We eventually found out that he died.  It was a sad day.  It’s still burned into my memory though: the principal of our school coming into our classroom crying and then the teacher crying and then the entire class crying.  At that age did we even know what it meant that the President was shot?  We knew we had seen him on television speaking to us, the people of the U.S.A., and he was pretty cool and good-looking.  He was a fine president.

When John Lennon (of the Beatles) died (1980):   I was driving South on Route 101 on my way to work in the San Francisco Bay Area (California) from Palo Alto to San Jose.  I was listening to the radio, as I always did, and they announced on the radio that John Lennon had been shot and that he was dead.  I was shocked.  I had to pull over into the breakdown lane because I started crying.  When I pulled myself together and got to work they had the radio on, and playing on the radio was songs by John Lennon.  Just about everybody there looked very sad.

9/11 happened (2001):  This time I was in Iowa.  I was sharing a house in Fairfield, Iowa with another woman.  I was upstairs in my room sleeping in or reading a book or something.  Claudia (name changed) knocked on my door at about 10 AM and came in and told me that some jet planes had crashed into the World Trade Center in NYC.  We both then went down into the living room and watched the news.  I don’t think I stayed too long, I think I went back up into my room or went out and walked the dogs or something.  It was just too horrific.  It was a horrible and shocking experience.  I was sick for three weeks after that happened.  Somehow or other I didn’t actually watch the planes crash into the twin towers until several weeks later.  I didn’t really want to see it.  I was very, very, very upset by what had happened.

I have lots of other memories of other things, happy things; here’s a few.

When my daughter was born and I was in a birthing center in Menlo Park, California in 1981.  My husband was there and some friends of ours were there and they took pictures. I was pretty much out of it during the process but I definitely remember holding my darling new baby on my chest.

When I first saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964 when I was 12, I was still living at home (of course) and my parents always watched the Ed Sullivan show on Sunday night.  We were sitting in our living room watching our black and white TV.  They made fun of The Beatle’s long hair, but I didn’t care.  I LOVED the Beatles.

When I saw my first Macintosh computer in 1982.  My husband and I were visiting a student’s dorm room at MIU in Fairfield, Iowa.  This was before the Internet.  The student showed us the drop-down menus and other cool stuff on his computer. Then he opened something up where one could do research – not on the Internet, on his hard drive – and he showed us how the hyperlinks worked.  We were blown away.

Organizations and things I have been part of:
(Names may have been changed to protect the sometimes Not-So-Innocent)

The Roman Catholic Religion.  At first I was brain-washed into believing their dogma.  I quit because they said I would go to hell if I went to any other type of church, among other reasons.  I don’t believe in heaven or hell.  I even had my first wedding in a Catholic church in 1977 and had my daughter baptized in a Catholic church, only because my mother was a devout Catholic and this is what she wanted me to do.  I didn’t see any harm in it.  I certainly don’t see any harm in quitting.

I was thinking about becoming part of a witches group in my 20s in Massachusetts but never did.  I had to add this because now I sort of wish I had joined.

The Transcendental Meditation group (TM).  I joined because they said we could bring about world peace by being a part of this group.  I quit because they said that they were “the best” and that joining or even going to another type of group meeting would get me kicked out of the TM group, among other things.  My husband, my daughter and I even lived in Iowa at the TM college there (MIU/MUM) for over 15 years.

A group led by a lady named Nancy here in Taos, New Mexico.  She thought that everyone was either dark or light.  It was kind of a new-agey thing.  I joined because I thought it was cool.  First she told me I was a being of light; then she told me I was dark.  She said my whole family was light then she changed her mind.  She even said my daughter is a vampire.  I quit…  well, just because.

A shaman group led by Rob here in Taos.  It was really cool and I was part of this group for four or more years.  He’s a really good shaman but very bad at treating his friends and students nicely, and he smokes, so I quit.  We are still friends.

The University of New Mexico - Taos.  I was a student from 2002 until last year.  I had a job at the library there that I loved!!  I was a work-study student at the library at first (for three years) and then tried to get a job there, twice, as a “regular” job but never got the job.  Too much bureaucracy.

There are probably others, but I can't remember them all.

I guess I should be happy I didn’t join the Jim Jones group back in the day!
I am now doing my own thing.  Whatever I want to do.  I meditate sometimes, I read books to gain knowledge, I do yoga, I pray to Christ, Krishna, Shiva, Isis, or whomever I feel like praying to.  Or not....
